Quantum Cut-off Rate Theory for Information Theoretic Analysis of Quantum Stream Cipher by Yuen Protocol

November 19, 2008 - 10:50-11:15am

RLE Conference Center 36-428

Abstract

A quantum stream cipher by Yuen 2000 protocol(Y-00) is a concrete example of so called Gauss-Yuen random cipher which may have information theoretic security for finite data length under a short key against known plaintext attack. In addition, this type of stream cipher provides secure optical communication of G bit/sec in a real network. In this talk, a quantum cut-off rate theory is introduced to evaluate quantitative information theoretic security of the general Y-00 scheme with several randomizations.
